Today I thought I’d give you a brief overview of the new infantry releases from the upcoming Xeraak Triarchy Acquisition Roster.
The Centaur Scout Cyborgs are exactly that – a recon unit designed to rove ahead of the main force and find new avenues of attack. They’re particularly useful for helping big groups of Revenants get forward into the battle zone to get closer to their foes. Not only that, but Centaurs have significant firepower of their own, what with having a Plasma Carbine and a Plasma Accelerator, plus the ability to fire them both despite being infantry, making them more akin to a mobile weapons platform than anything else. Another trick up their sleeve is the ability forfeit an Order dice to ‘scan’ the nearby surroundings, enabling a friendly unit to reroll a failed Search attempt.
The Hunchback Gun Cyborgs serve as the Xeraak Triarchy’s heavy weapons infantry unit. Unlike other factions who tend to have different squads equipped for specific target types, Hunchbacks can fire their weapons in one of two settings, making them capable of dealing with different enemies. The Focussed setting is for engaging armoured targets such as tanks, whilst the Dispersed mode turns the Hunchback into mobile light artillery, firing indirectly if needed. Plus, what with being infantry, they are capable of traversing virtually any terrain to where their quarry might be hiding.
Which of these two are you most looking forward to?
Tune in on Monday to hear all about the Harvester Mech variants – see you there!
I’m extremely excited to announce what we’ve all been waiting for – the release date for the Xeraak Triarchy…but first! (only joking)…
On March 1st you’ll be able to get your grubby-little cyborgy hands on the following new units:
Centaur Scout Cyborgs
Hunchback Gun Cyborgs
Harvester Shield Mechs
Harvester Combat Mechs
Xeraak Triarchy Drop Pods
Overlord Gun Walker
Reaper Combat Walker
Vector Assault Walker
Plasma Blasters Hardlink upgrade
Plasma Missile Pods Hardlink upgrade
Compound Optics Hardlink upgrade
Not only that, but for the first time in a long time there coming alongside these fantastic models will be a brand new Acquisition Roster, enabling you to use the Xeraak Triarchy in your games of From Ashes, with background, rules and images of these units. Just like the others, it is going to be a free PDF download too!
That’s pretty much it really! Over the next few weeks you can learn more about how some of these units work in the From Ashes miniatures game and see which one(s!) jumps out at you most.
On a separate note, I just wanted to let you know that Verse Dominion and SFA units now come with the gen2 bases.
Lastly, this Friday you’ll get to learn more about the new infantry – the Hunchbacks and Centaurs, so make sure to keep an eye on this space for more info on this new exciting and enigmatic faction.
‘Twas another great day at Leadbelt yesterday, with plenty of folks playing exciting games of From Ashes. We even got to see some of the new Xeraak Triarchy units, with the Harvester Combat Mech going for a spin on the battlefield too! (And some great feedback from all those involved for its rules – thanks for that).
I’d like to just say a big ‘thank you’ to all who came along and we’ll do another one soon.
On a separate note, I just wanted to let you know that the Sol Enclaves infantry range will now come with the new gen2 infantry bases.
Well, what can we say? 2023 was quite the year! We had lots more shows to go to, and made plenty of friends along the way too. The From Ashes community is going from strength to strength, with new folks regularly joining the Facebook group and attending the From Ashes Gaming Day event where they’ve been sharing their experiences and creations with one another. It’s been so fascinating to see the direction people take their hobby journey.
The From Ashes rule system itself had gone from strength to strength, ever improving with your help. Player feedback is so helpful, especially to an ever-expanding, dynamic game like From Ashes.
The Verse Dominion and Sol Enclaves have both received new models, expanding their gameplay options. Not only that, but the next faction; the Xeraak Triarchy, have made their presence known on the battlefields of the Damnya Sector.
2024 will see this journey continue, with the new Xeraak Triarchy Acquisition roster, individual faction cards to improve gameplay flow, and work is starting on the Kymeron Free Republic too. (There’s plenty of other plans, but don’t want to give it all away too early to say the least!)
Much has changed, but it’s fair to say, we’re only getting started…
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for your support and joining us on this exciting adventure.
I’ve got two great bits of news for you, and a quick reminder about Christmas orders too.
Let’s get the boring stuff out of the way first shall we? – For those of you who intend to get orders arrive for Christmas, I strongly suggest you order them as soon as possible. I will do what I can, but postal services will no doubt be extremely busy this time of year so worth getting ahead of the last minute rush.
Next up, there’s going to be another From Ashes Gaming Day hosted by the fantastic folks over at LeadBelt Games Arena, Nottingham, on January 14th. For those of you who’ll be spending the Christmas break building toy soldiers, you’ve now got something to work towards!
Lastly, I was extremely excited to receive the first set of samples for the new Xeraak Triarchy Walkers, and just could not wait to show you all! Take a look at the pics below to see the variants in all their glory, and of course alongside an Anvil for size reference too. Trust me, things are moving as quickly as they can to get these monsters onto your battlefields, so watch this space…
Right, that just about does it me thinks! Have a great Christmas and a Xeraak Triarchy-y New Year!
The time has finally arrived – the first wave of Xeraak Triarchy has been detected in orbit, and are preparing to assimilate your citizens into their forces!
Today, you’ll be able to get the following new Xeraak Triarchy squads for From Ashes:
-Meta Command Unit – capable of leading your armies of thrall cyborgs and protecting them using advanced shield projectors.
-Revenant Combat Cyborgs – the mainline infantry unit of the Xeraak Triarchy, who charge towards their foes firing plasma carbines as they go before unleashing devastating arc blades in close combat.
-Revenant Berserker Cyborgs – Those thralls who show signs of cognitive degradation are instead used as maddened assault units, distracting the foe and disrupting their battle planes, yet still hit home with a powerful punch.
-Meta Overseer Synapse Unit – Occasionally, Meta Overseers will band together into small teams where they can relay the orders of friendly commanders to nearby thralls.
These are available via online store here, and the rules in the From Ashes Rules Downloads page here.
Oh and one last thing – the Sol Enclaves sub-faction the Union of the Advancing Dawn can take these as Support Squads too!
This coming Saturday (December 2nd) Void Scar Miniatures will be attending the Recon show in Pudsey, Leeds. This is a new one for Void Scar, but no doubt will become a favourite once we’ve got settled in and chatting to everyone – see you there!
You can find out more by heading over to the Events page here.
Not only that, but I’m extremely excited to announce that the first-wave of Xeraak Triarchy will be available this coming Friday December 1st, so keep and eye out for that one too, and make this Christmas a cyborg-y Christmas!
Here’s a last minute reminder about the Warfare wargames show this coming Saturday, where not only can you get the range of Void Scar products, but you can also get ahead of time some of the new Xeraak Triarchy units as well! We’ll be at stall C20 in the Discover Hall – see you there!
Oh, and for those of you eager to find out more about these new units, the rules are now available for download here – enjoy!
This coming weekend (November 11-12th) Void Scar is off to the muchly anticipated Warfare war games show at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre. This will be our first time there and really excited to come along. Check out the link below for more info on the event.
Not only that, but I’m extremely excited to announce the upcoming release of the first wave of Xeraak Triarchy! These will be available starting from December, and includes the Revenant Combat Cyborgs, Meta Command Unit and Revenant Berserker Cyborgs. I know many of you will be waiting for a Strike Force and other models in the range, (so am I!) but you’ll have to wait a little longer for these I’m afraid, but they’re coming!
The rules for these models will also be available, but the main Xeraak Triarchy Acquisition Roster will arrive alongside the rest of the range later on. It’s worth remembering here that they can be integrated into an existing Sol Enclaves army which is using the Union of the Advancing Dawn sub-faction type too.
However, just for you folks coming to Warfare, you’ll be able to purchase these rather spiffing new cyborgs ahead of time!
So make sure your plasma batteries are installed, implants checked and bionics fired up, for the Xeraak Triarchy are coming…
