Britcon is now over, and want to say a big thanks to all who stopped by and gave From Ashes a go. The Youtube channel ‘Model Paint Whatever’ has done a video with highlights from the event, and you can even catch ourselves at the 10.40 timestamp (but of course, check out everything else too!)

From Ashes Gaming Day at Boards and Swords, Derby
Hi all!
This Saturday, the good folks over at Boards and Swords Hobbies, just outside Derby, are kindly hosting us for another From Ashes Gaming Day!
This is a great venue, with multiple gaming tables, fantastic hobby products and plenty of parking spaces.
The event itself consists of informally organised From Ashes games, aimed at a variety of skill levels in a warm and welcoming environment.

Void Scar Miniatures will be on our second outing to the incredible UK Games Expo this week. This truly fantastic event showcases the very best from the tabletop creative industries – and we’re going to be involved in the fun too!

The latest From Ashes update is now available which brings a whole host of tweaks and improvements, making your games run smoother than ever. The goal of this update is to reduce the reliance on rerolling dice, giving you more time to focus on the important decision-making aspects of the game. Below is a list of the changes you can expect to see.
As usual, each faction’s Acquisition Rosters have also been updated too. One to note is that the Sol Enclaves sub-factions have now been removed in their entirety from the main Sol Enclaves roster as these are found elsewhere in the dedicated sub-faction rosters, meaning those Sol Enclaves players will not need to print out quite such a heavy tome.
The canny-eyed among you will also notice that there’s a couple of new Units added; one to the Zayken and another to the Sol Enclaves: Dominion Vassal. Now these units, the Brawlers and Sol Enclaves Rhino Assault Tank, are not out yet, but they should be soon enough and seemed silly having to add them in later, so you’ve got the rules early instead!

There’s also been a restock on the website too, so be sure to update your forces with all you need, or maybe start something new.
Lastly, work on the brand new faction the Kymeron Republic is in full swing, so be sure to watch this space for updates on that too!
Another lastly – working on the From Ashes rules is quite the endeavour, with seemingly endless hours of playtesting, rewriting and editing going into it. While these rules are free, support is very much appreciated. At the bottom of the From Ashes Rules Downloads page, you’ll see a ‘PayPal Donate’ button – don’t feel obligated, but if you would like to support the continued development of From Ashes – every little helps! Other than that, I truly appreciate everyone’s support, whatever forms it takes, to make From Ashes the best ruleset it can be and support this fantastic community of gamers.

Next Monday will see the release of the upcoming update to the fantastic sci-fi miniatures game From Ashes.
This update will provide a whole host of minor and major improvements, and of course updates for each faction’s Acquisition Roster.

This Saturday gone a group of us spent the day playing From Ashes, and what a day it was! Plenty of wonderful folks came out to join in, with exciting battles had and many memorable moments, it truly was a special event. We even chatted about the next From Ashes update, with passionate and well thought-out backwards-and-forwards on upcoming changes (all that feedback was very much welcome – thank you!).
On that note, I just want to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who came along (as I know a few of you had come very far indeed!), and can’t wait to see you all next time. Of course extra special thanks goes to Stuart and the gang from Mantic Games for being such gracious hosts as they always are.

This Saturday, come along to Mantic Games in Nottingham and join us for a day of playing From Ashes. If you’re a veteran of the game, or a newbie looking for players, all are welcome!
Mantic Games is situated within a 10 minute walk of Bulwell tram stop, or if you’re coming by car, 10 minute drive from junction 26 on the M1 motorway. There’s the small town centre of Bulwell within a short walk with plenty of food options available too.
Not only that, but if you join us you’ll be one of the first people to give the upcoming From Ashes 0.1.3 update a go and a chance to give your feedback before general release some time later.
